BBMak: At Home In The U.S.A!

Call it the year 2000 British Invasion!  BBMak, those three totally beauteous boys from Britain, have completely taken over America with their melodious songs, their dreamy good looks and their way cool attitudes.

You might be surprised to hear this, but Ste, Mark and Christian haven't released one single in their native England-that's because they've been concentrating on making music here in the United States.  And, as they recently told Tiger Beat, they're totally psyched with the reception their fans-that's you, right?-have given them.  We talked with the terrific and talented trio about their upcoming fall tour, their favorite American cities-and their love for you, their American fans!

TIGER BEAT: You guys have traveled all over the United States-do you each have a favorite city?
STE:
I just love New York-it's me favorite place, because it's so real.   What you see is what you get!  Chicago is my second favorite because I've got a brother who lives near there-he's studying at the University.  I'm lucky, because I'm the one with family all over the States-me father's sister moved here years ago, so I've got cousins all over America.
CHRISTIAN: Me, I love California and Miami, Florida-I love the weather.
MARK: I like Miami, as Christian does.  Los Angeles though is me favorite place, because it's where we started recording the album-and of course the weather is great, the food is great.  New York is cool, but it's a lot like London, which is a great place to do a bit of shopping, but I like my relaxed places.
STE: I think I'd love to live in New York one day.  I could see myself living there and being very happy.

TB: We hear you're going to be touring on your own this fall-can you tell us all about it?
STE: We're doing out own tour from October 23rd until December 3rd-small clubs.  It'll be cool-a BBMak tour, and that's fine by me!

TB: What's been the reaction of the crowds at your concerts?
STE:
Everywhere we go, everyone knows our songs and everyone knows our name.   They might not have seen us before, but they've definitely hear dus.  We did a gig in California, and over 4,000 people showed up!
CHRISTIAN:
Ever since we started being in your magazines, everyone's been more aware of us.  Your magazines-with all the pictures you're putting in-we get recognized all the time.  It's amazing!  It happened when I was shopping for pajamas in Macy's!  Now I have to remember to go out with my fake mustache.

TB: Are you planning to release your album in England?
CHRISTIAN:
Well, for us at the moment, things are going so well over here, and we want to stay here and keep moving forward.  This is our main priority.  But eventually, when we have a couple of weeks break, we'll want to try and do some stuff over there.  But America is number one on our list.

TB: Other European groups, like Five and Westlife, are more popular in their home countries than here.  Why do you think that is?
CHRISTIAN:
Bands like Westlife and Five, they've got number one songs in England and all over Europe, but they can't afford to spend months in America because they've got commitments in Europe and all over Asia.  We've got the luxury of time.  America is such a big place, and you've got to go to all the cities and connect with the people.   The only way to do that is actually be here and to go on tour.

TB: You must be getting a lot of fan mail-are you able to read it all?
CHRISTIAN:
We do see it, but sometimes our schedule is just too heavy to read it all at once.  But we do check out the fan mail.  Lots of people do drawings of us, and we always put them up in the bus.  And we always go on out web site, www.bbmakfan.com-we go into the chat room.  I go on, and no one believes it's me!

TB: What's one thing about America you'd love to bring home to England?
MARK:
The weather!
STE:
The weather and the positive attitudes.  Everyone here is so positive and cheerful all the time-everyone has treated us so nicely.  We'd like to take everyone we've met back home with us!
CHRISTIAN:
I'd also like to bring home pizza!

TB: Is there a message you'd like us to deliver to your fans?
STE:
Just tell everyone we love them, and thank you for buying our album.   And we'll see you all soon!
MARK:
Cheers to everyone!
