BBMak bounces back from failure

Mark, Ste and Christian prove hard work can take you to the top

The BBMak boys will be the first to tell you - being big-time pop music stars isn't all glam and glory!   "We've worked so hard to get where we are today," says Ste McNally (the Mak in BBMak, by the way!)
As the guys prepare to get to work on their second album, they admit that they often think about their early years, when they struggled to become successful - and failed!  "We're not over night sensations," says Christian.   "It took along time to make our dreams come true."

If At first You Don't Succeed
The boys are all originally from small towns in England - in fact, they met at clubs all over Manchester and Liverpool and decided to form a band when they realized they had the same dreams and goals.  So when they recorded their first single "Back Here," they - naturally - released it in their home country.  But the song flopped in a major way!  "It was hard at times," says Christian.  But in spite of the disappointment, the guys continued to pursue their musical dreams.  "We were lucky, because our families were so supportive," says Ste.  "When we didn't believe in ourselves, they were saying, 'You can do this!'  That gave us the courage to keep on going through hard times."

"Back Here" Again
Ste, Mark and Christian started traveling the world, and slowly but surely they found an audience in Japan and in the United States.  When they re-released "Back Here," it became a smash hit.  "It's what we always dreamed of," says Mark, "to finally reach success after five years - and we did it together, which made it even better."

During this summer, the guys will be spreading the BBMak sound throughout the U.S. - they're one of the awesome opening acts for the 'N Sync arena tour.   "This is going to be amazing for us," says Mark.  "To have 20,000 fans screaming and singing along to your music, that's the best feeling in the world."  Christian agrees, and adds that he never gets tired of meeting and greeting BBMak fans.  "As long as they're having a good time and enjoying our music, we'll have a great time and do our best for them," he promises.

The BBMak lads also remember that there were four guys from their hometown who were pretty successful in the music business - and they hope to emulate them.   "If The Beatles, who were from Liverpool like us, can make it, I know we can," says Ste.  "Anything is possible!"
